WHAT IS HCI

/////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////

It is a study dealing with all areas about people how to Computers and Communications.

Why is HCI important?

The computer is a general-purpose tool used in everyday life, has become important to ensure that the general public can use easy and fun.

ACTIVITY

Component of HCI

digital products and services interact with human

the process of the actual interaction via this interface

all of the knowledge and memories and feelings for user using digital products and services

The system is due to the weight is smaller, the digital technology in consumer electronics and office supplies are internalized.

2

The computer system is used in critical applications such as military purposes, if the HCI principles were not met properly, it is possible to generate a very serious problem

3

New digital technology increases, increased the simple importance on the business of HCI that focused on the development of useful system from the user's standpoint

4

What do we do?

HCI are dealing Computer, human, and interaction. So, have to understand a basic property.

  1. Understand the computer (limit, platform, error)

  2. Understand human (human error, sociality)

  3. And, understand the interaction of both
(GUI, Virtual Reality, Ubiquitous Computer, Augmented Interaction)

What is User Experience?

The purpose of HCI is that it provides an optimal experience for users.

HCI is an area for handling specific user interface and interaction method and procedures for providing a subjective overall goal optimal experience.

What is interaction?

Simply does mean the only relationship between human and computer?

It means the process of reaching the Goal using a computer.

In this case, the better there are no obstructions in the road.

So, for this, there are four elements that always need to be familiar.

  • Where you are?

  • What you can do?

  • Where you are going?

  • Where you've been?

Norman model

  • User establishes the goal

  • Formulates intention

  • Specifies actions at interface

  • Executes action

  • Perceives system state

  • Interprets system state

  • Evaluates system state with respect to goal

As a program that the user intended cannot be executed.

Actual results of value to the user's expectations of the value of the result is different

Abowd and Beale framework

Better interface design

Better understanding of system.

Physical aspects of HCI, Interface

It means the engineering for the human.

Discover information about Human behavior, capability, limits, etc.

So, as the tool which is applied to design the mechanical system,

the human is able to work in a productive, safe and comfortable environment.

Arrangement of controls and displays

controls grouped according to function or frequency of use, or sequentially

Surrounding environment

seating arrangements adaptable to cope with all sizes of user

health issues

physical position, environmental conditions (temperature, humidity), lighting, noise

Use of color

use of red for warning, green
